The administrative office of the Independent Employee Benefits Corporation, also known as IEBC, was established in 1956 to administer the funds of the Carpenters Welfare and Pension Funds of Illinois.  Through the years, the office began to provide administrative services for other Taft-Hartley funds.  In 1980 the Carpenters established a separate corporation for this purpose.  IEBC offers administration for other funds to provide them with economies of scale by sharing overhead expenses.  IEBC offers a full range of support services for multi-employer clients.  These services include complete administration of welfare and pension plans, including fund accounting, collection and accounting of employer contributions, and general support for boards of trustees. IEBC is a corporation and a licensed third party administrator. IEBC provides administrative services to the following funds:
